Nintendo explains why there is the New 2DS XL

Last week was announced by surprise the New Nintendo 2DS XL, new edition of Nintendo's portable console to be released on July 28.

The reasons for the New 2DS XL


Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo America, has confessed what are the reasons that have led the company to put into the hands of consumers this new version of the console dual screen. Everything is due to offer more options to the market for players who take their first steps.

"The Nintendo 2DS was focused on those players who wanted to start, the boy or girl between four and six years who just arrived but who wants to play Mario Kart, Pokémon and Super Mario Bros.," said the president of the American division.

Fils-Aime compares the standard model of the New Nintendo 3DS XL with "the cadillac of portable consoles" in relation to everything it offers, and believes that the new edition is "an intermediate step" to continue contributing to the evolution of this Newcomer to digital entertainment.

The New Nintendo 2DS XL has double screen, is foldable and has no 3D effect. Its hardware is the same as that seen in the New Nintendo 3DS XL and will go on sale in two color combinations: black / turquoise and white / orange. We still do not know its price for Spain.
